Lions Fall to Calif Rogue in Tough One 14-2 The Lions lost a close one on July 26th, falling to the Northern California defending champion California Rogue, 14-2. It was the opening game of a double-header held at Las Vegas El Dorado High School. It was the second week in a row the Lions hosted a California champion during their pre-season schedule. Lions I Say!!!

-------------- Lions Lose to the Blackhawks in 2014 Preseason Opener Unfortunately, the Lions 2014 preseason opener was not one to remember, as the defending LCFL Champion Inglewood Blackhawks brought their 50-man travel squad to Las Vegas and defeated the Lions. One of the top rated programs in the country, the Blackhawks continued their undefeated preason and get ready to defend their 2013 LCFL crown. Despite the tough loss it gave Head Coach Allen "Tommy" Kilen and his staff, an excellent opportunity to review his entire 2014 roster against arguably one of the toughest opponents they'll see this year. "We know what we need to work on going forward and you cannot pass up an opportunity to play a team like the Blackhawks" commented Coach Kilen. "We still took away a number of positives and the march continues to the August 16th Regular Season and Home opener." Lions I say!!!

-------------- Legacy High School Taps John "Ice" Isola for Head Coach! Long time friend and golf partner, John "Ice" Isloa, has been named Head Football Coach of the Las Vegas Legacy High Longhorns! John a long-time High School coach, and former Vegas Kings Head Coach, is coming off a successful 2013 Longhorn season as their Offensive Coordinator. Let's all wish John, his wife Lisa and their 3 daughters (triplets!), the very best! Go Longhorns!

-------------- Lions 2nd Annual Signing Day a Huge Success! The Lions held their 2nd Annual Player Signing Day on May 10th at the Twin Peaks Restaurant on Eastern Ave & The 215 freeway in Southeast Las Vegas! Hats off to the Staff of Twin Peaks, for making it an event to remember!!! Lions I Say!!!

-------------- Lions Tangle with the Assassins in the first 2014 Scrimmage!! On March 29th, the Lions not only held their first scrimmage of 2014, but their VERY first 8-man indoor scrimmage, against the defending area Indoor League Champion Silver State Assassins. Although it required a quick learning curve, the 2014 Lions held their own but came up short against the defending champs, 26-6. For Head Coach Allen "Tommy" Kilen and his staff, it was an opportunity to gauge some of the new recruits in game time environment. "With our first pre-season games not scheduled until July, what better opportunity for our staff to see what these guys bring to the table", commented Coach Kilen. For Coaches Rick Welte, Demetrius Purdie-Williams and Ian Tunney, they could not ask for a better opportunity this early in the year to gauge players in a contact environment. Lions I Say!!

Lions Hold First of three 2014 Tryouts

The 2014 Lion Campaign kicked off in high gear on Saturday Jan 25th, as the Lions held the first of three Tryouts at the Las Vegas Sports Park in Summerlin. For newly appointed Head Coach Allen "Tommy" Kilen, it was the first opportunity for he and his Staff to evaluate potential Lions and returning players from the 2013 innaugural season.

For Owners Jeff Belknap & Bill Miller, it's the foundation for the what 2014 is being declared as The Year of the Lions!
